How many products or services will you be targeting? We all have a million ideas but without getting focused on one product or service, we may not attract anyone. Look at the big boys in the retail game, when they advertise they are usually pushing one product or at least one theme for a sale.

Building a marketing plan is like baking a cake, if you don’t have a good recipe more likely than not you will fall flat on your face. So lets look at the recipe for making that perfect cake, or in your case that business plan that will lead you to success.
How will you market your cake?
How many products or services will you be targeting? We all have a million ideas but without getting focused on one product or service, we may not attract anyone. Look at the big boys in the retail game, when they advertise they are usually pushing one product or at least one theme for a sale.
Will you be target people who like cake or will you require targeting people who like chocolate cake? Remember to spend your advertising dollar where your target audience looks, advertising hunting supplies in a magazine for gardeners may not get you the response you are looking for.
Where are those elusive customers? Do the research find out where your potential customers are. Do they have a club or organization; do they frequent certain other places that you may ask to place some advertising?
When using magazines, newspapers, Radio and Television, you will hear the terms like demographics, what percentage of the audience fits your ideal target consumer?
How are you employing the things about your product that make a customer go hmmmm?
What will distinguish you above your competitors; do you have a gimmick? What is special that you provide that the competition cannot? What is your plan for on going research about your competitions sales and prices? What are your payment options? Will you offer Checks or Credit Cards, Online and Offline Solutions, deferred payments, financing? Market testing is important. How will you test your product/service? How will you quantify the results of the market testing?
